CHOOSE YOUR WORDS CAREFULLY IN THANKSGIVING – Daily Devotional

SCRIPTURAL TEXT: Psalms 78:70-71
He chose David also his servant, and took him from the sheepfolds: From following the ewes’ great with young he brought him to feed Jacob his people, and Israel his inheritance.

December 27th

In expressing your thanksgiving to God through words, your choice of words matter. The choice of your words can be appropriately used to gauge the depth of your gratitude.
Take a clue from David in Psalms chapter 78 where he began giving thanks to God by recounting where God took him from.

No wonder David knew how to get the heart of God. He remembered the low place where he was before God lifted him up. That is enough to stir up one’s heart in thanksgiving.

He always remembered the battles he won not because of his skills or great army but because, he knew that it was God that gave him the victory.

Irrespective of all these, some people do not know how to articulate their thanksgiving or gratitude, they term it being short of words, but this could be as a result of not taking deep meditation to dig out all the things that the Lord has done for them.

If you find yourself in this category, then you would need to settle down and begin to outline your blessings one by one, and you would eventually be surprised at all the good things God has done for you

Give God a sacrifice of praise in faith and expectation. Do not focus on the circumstance around you. God has not abandoned you. He is with you. Praise God, and He will bring your answer right to you. Glory to God!

PRAYER FOR THE DAY

Dear Father, let my words come as a sweet smelling
incense before you in Jesus name

PRAYER FOR MALDIVES

Background: Maldives is rated amongst the top 10 nation that needs the Gospel. 50% are unreached with the Gospel. It has one of the highest divorce rates in the world, rising crime and gang activity, abuse of children, and endemic drug use among teens.

We are praying against every stronghold of pride, and fear prevalent in the nation which is militating against the
Gospel. Dear Lord, we pray that our leaders will be emotionally and psychologically whole in Jesus name

PRAYER FOR ISRAEL
Father, I ask today that there will be peace in
Jerusalem and that your purposes be established in that city. Amen (Ps 122:6)

PRAYER FOR UNITY IN THE CHURCH
Dear Father, give us the spirit of humility and patience that we
may show tolerance for one another in love

PRAYER FOR SOULS / REVIVAL
Father in the name of Jesus, we pray that your light will cover our nations, that in all places men, women,
and youths will begin to hunger for you.
