SCRIPTURAL TEXT: ROMANS 6:14
For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace.

Today’s scripture reveals that being identified with Christ in His sacrifice in order to be set free from sin does not imply that we are now sinless, faultless, or sin-free. Paul would not have given the directive of “Don’t let sin have the upper hand’ if it were not the case“ Hence, there is work to be done.
Being spiritually mature is not the same as being dead to sin. It is a spiritual truth you must believe and act on frequently, against your feelings and lusts. It is true because you are united or identified with Jesus Christ. However, oneness with Christ does not eliminate fleshly lusts.
Sin is a cruel dictator. If you let sin rule over you, it will lead to death (Romans 6:21, 23). It is like you living with a little cancer, it will spread and take over your entire body and eventually kill you. The solution will be, therefore, to cut off cancer- eliminate all of it. Similarly, you cannot tolerate a small amount of sin.
Therefore, do not give members of your body to sin but rather, present your body as a living sacrifice unto God and you will gain mastery over sin.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Dear Father, I receive strength to overcome sin and stay sin-free in Jesus name.

57% are unreached with the Gospel. The government of Kyrgyzstan needs courage, resources, and even miracles to right the economy and society in general. The regimes subsequent to Communism have thus brought about only greater corruption, crime, and poverty.

Father, I ask today that there will be peace in Jerusalem and that your purposes be established in that city. Amen (Ps 122:6).

Father in the name of Jesus, we pray that your light will cover this city that in all places desire for your word and to know your Son will cause men to come to the knowledge of salvation through us in every place.
