FORGIVENESS BRINGS RESTORATION – Daily Devotional

Believers today very quickly identify sins such as lying, fornication or stealing, as more pronounced and serious sins. However, they often fail to recognize the much more hidden, yet destructive sin of unforgiveness which continues to be a major reason for setbacks in the lives of many. The scriptures speak of little foxes that spoil the vine. This depicts that the big issues in our spiritual walk are often engineered by the little things which we often neglect.

The enemy constantly employs unforgiveness as a major exhibit in accusing the believer before God. This is because many believers despise it and lack knowledge of its limiting power in the realms of the spirit. When we delay or chose not to forgive others, we outrightly disobey the Word, which instructs that we forgive others because God forgave us our sins, in Christ. When we hold on to others in our hearts therefore, and refuse to let them go as Christ did let us go, we give the enemy the right to hold on to us and afflict us.

The scriptures maintain that you leave your gift at the altar and first make amends with your brother who has offended you. This means that unforgiveness can and will hinder your prayers and your offerings, both of which are altar practices. Are you offended or hurt by anyone? Or more so, is someone hurt because of you? You must take the time to deal with any offense in your heart today and release the forgiveness of God invested in you. As you do so, your restoration will be unstoppable. Say amen!
