GOD DESPISES MURMURING AND COMPLAINING – Daily Devotional

SCRIPTURAL TEXT: Psalms 50:22-23

“Repent, all of you who forget me, or I will tear you apart, and no one will help you.
But giving thanks is a sacrifice that truly honors me. If you keep to my path, I will
reveal to you the salvation of God.”

December 20th

Our opening scripture makes us understand that, God takes our gratitude extremely seriously.
Without gratitude, we are not better than the Israelites in the wilderness who consistently disobeyed and murmured against God despite how He consistently delivered them.

Every time they murmured, they were resentful to the deliverance of God.
They represent the example of those believers under the new covenant who take the gift of life in Christ with levity.

How many of us faithfully express our gratitude for God, Jesus, and the Holy Ghost? The charge to us all is that when we remember the wondrous life we received at salvation, we must be thankful. We must pay attention to our sense of gratitude. Gratitude to God becomes a powerful way for us to live and recognize that the source of the goodness is from God.

Ponder on all He has done and remind yourself that He is faithful. Remember He is the same, yesterday, today, and forever, and give Him praise. Also, plan to present your substance as an act of showing gratitude.

PRAYER FOR THE DAY

Father, I ask today that there will be peace in
Jerusalem and that your purposes be established in that city. Amen (Ps 122:6)

PRAYER FOR MALAYSIA
Background: 31% are unreached with the Gospel. They are mostly Muslim but with some Hindus and Buddhists as well. The
Malaysian Church has a wonderful opportunity to reach many unevangelized groups who are right on their doorstep.
We are praying for the Christians in Malaysia that they will be examples of believers and that their lifestyle will
attract others to God.

We pray for the leaders of this nation that even when they have different opinions and agendas, help them to find
common ground and find ways to compromise. Help the leaders to be mutually supportive of one another

PRAYER FOR ISRAEL
Father, I ask today that there will be peace in
Jerusalem and that your purposes be established in that city. Amen (Ps 122:6)

PRAYER FOR UNITY IN THE CHURCH
We pray for the church that it will be a fellowship of believers, a people set apart
from the world to serve you in newness of life, living in gracious union one with
the other

PRAYER FOR SOULS / REVIVAL
Father in the name of Jesus, we pray for a blood-washed city that revival will hit this city, and churches will
arise in every place and your name will be known to the uttermost part of the city.
