SCRIPTURAL TEXT: Acts 16:25-26
At midnight, Paul and Silas prayed and sang praises unto God and the Prisoners heard them. And suddenly, there
was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken and immediately all the doors were
opened, and everyone’s hands were loosed.

The natural response to being imprisoned or being in pain is to cry out or struggle to get out. When in tight situations, praising God might be the last thing that comes to mind. In the case of Paul and Silas however, their response did not correlate with their circumstance at all.
They chose to pray and sing. Truly amazing! Our scriptural text above shows us the result of their shocking response; they were delivered from the prison.
Wow! This makes us understand that the power of God can be activated in our lives when we praise God. Paul and Silas focused on God by praying and praising God even in the midst of their challenges and God showed up for them.
Have you tried praising God when in distress? If not, begin to thank God for that situation, begin to praise and acknowledge Him that is able to save you from all your troubles. He will show up for you.

PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Dear Father, help me to give praise even when my
conditions are not favourable in Jesus name.
PRAYER FOR MADAGASCAR
Background: Animism prevails with strong Muslim influence in the north and northwest of Madagascar, and 80% of the south is still non-Christian. Inaccessibility is the greatest challenge, and missionaries have thus far failed to penetrate these regions effectively.
We are praying that the doors of the Gospel will be opened in the nation.
We pray that you would give the President wisdom to surround himself with counselors who have our country’s best
interest at heart.
PRAYER FOR ISRAEL
Father, I ask today that there will be peace in Jerusalem and that your purposes be established in that city. Amen (Ps 122:6)

We pray that the message of the cross, the message f redemption in Christ will be the focus of the church in Jesus name.

Father in the name of Jesus, we ask that your word will grow mightily and prevail, leading to a mass harvest
of souls and revival in our city and environs.
