SCRIPTURAL TEXT: 1 SAMUEL 1: 18
And she said, Let thine handmaid find grace in thy sight. So the woman went her way, and did eat, and her countenance was no more sad.
August 20th
After Hannah received her word of prophecy, the scripture records that her countenance was no more sad. Being Joyful is a step to answered prayers. Doubt is a joy killer. A doubtful person will never have a joyful countenance because he believes that what God has promised may never manifest. This is an erroneous disposition to have because a doubtful and double-minded man cannot receive anything from God. (James 1:6-7)
As long as Hannah was sad, nothing good could happen. She remained barren because she was still sad. But, when her countenance changed to joy then her situation changed. God cannot give you a breakthrough while you are still in a sad state. The bible said God meets with them that rejoiceth, and when He meets with you, He, of a surety brings the answers that you desire. Sadness is a proof that you doubt God’s ability to bring your answers.
Thus today, be convinced beyond doubt that the word of God is ‘Yea’ and ‘Amen’. His word will never return void without accomplishing the purpose for which it was sent. Have you received a prophecy concerning your health, your marriage, your business, your ministry, let it reflect in your countenance.
Begin by shaking off that sadness and rejoice in the Holy Ghost. Hallelujah!

PRAYER FOR ISRAEL
Father, I ask today that there will be peace in Jerusalem and that your purposes be established in that city. Amen (Ps 122:6).

Dear Father, grant the leaders the grace to face unique challenges regarding political unrest, financial crisis, law enforcement, racial division and so on.
PRAYER FOR UNITY IN THE CHURCH
Oh Lord, teach us to grow in grace and in a godly unity.
PRAYER FOR SOULS / REVIVAL
Father in the name of Jesus, we pray that the light of the glorious gospel of Christ will shine in the hearts of every unsaved person all around us today.
