SCRIPTURAL TEXT: LUKE 17:14
And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they
went, they were cleansed

In our opening scripture, we see that the lepers obeyed Jesus even before
being healed. To obey is to submit to the authority of (someone) or comply
with. There is no greater example of obedience in the scriptures than
Abraham. He believed God for a child for many years and when he finally got
his blessing of a child at a very old age, he was asked by God to sacrifice him.
How would you have acted if you were in his shoes? This calls for deep reflection, but instead of him to
complain and judge God as being unfair, he obeyed immediately not even discussing with his wife who
would obviously have dissuaded him. He journeyed for 3 whole days which was a good time to change his
mind but remained adamant on obeying. Just when he would carry out the act of slaying his son, God
showed up in an encounter that defines him to this day as the father of all Christians. Wow!
What are you struggling with in the area of your obedience to God? Take a cue from Abraham today and ask
God for grace to walk in obedience always. In every act of obedience, he always shows up. Glory to God!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Dear Father, I ask for grace to be obedient in Jesus
name.
