OVERTAKING GRACE – Daily Devotional

SCRIPTURAL TEXT: 1 Samuel 30:8 KJV

And David enquired at the LORD, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered
him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all

G od is more than able to do whatsoever He has promised. No matter how bad a situation might have turned; God is still able to overturn it. This is an understanding that you must possess in your heart. With this understanding, you will find that you can never be disadvantaged. This was the
kind of heart at work in David.

According to the scriptures, David had lost his entire family and clan to the Amalekites (1Samuel 30:2);
everyone was taken captive, along with his possessions. It seemed that in the twinkling of an eye, David’s entire life had been reduced to nothing. What a really discouraging situation near to hopelessness. Yet, we see David encouraging himself and going before the Lord to commune with Him in prayer. What a great lesson for us today. In the end, we see David experiencing full restoration and multiplication right out of nothingness. Halleluyah!

There is no impossibility with God, and therefore, no limit to what God can do in your life. We learn from David that the strength to overtake and recover comes in the place of prayers and fellowship with the Lord. As David stayed with the Lord, he received supernatural faith and counsel on how and when to move. In the end, what seemed like a hopeless situation became a mighty testimony. Halleluyah!

PRAYERS FOR NATIONS LEADERS(CHAD)

51% are unreached with the Gospel. Largest Religion is Islam. There is the need for a stable and just
government as there is a history of violence, corruption and tribalism in the leadership of the nation.

1. We are praying for a Bible translation and literacy programmes in Chad.
2. O Lord, we bring the President and other leaders in different positions before you. May they find mercy and grace before you as they look for solutions to the different problems that are affecting the nation.

PRAYER FOR SOULS / REVIVAL

Father in the name of Jesus, we pray for the church, that the light from our church will so shine that our cities will gather and come unto us to know our God in Jesus name.
