REPENTANCE CREATES ACCESS – Daily Devotional

SCRIPTURAL TEXT: PSALM 51:17

”The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not
despise.”

November 28th

One dangerous obstacle to experiencing marvels this season is sin. The bible gives
us an understanding that God desires His children to experience all the goodies
he has for them but sin, truncates our access to God and the full benefits of
being his children. (Isaiah 59 : 1-2). Being unaware, many believers live and carry out their
daily activity without believing for a divine intervention in their spiritual life. They have
accepted their situation as a normal way of life but salvation was purchased by the blood of
Jesus to give us access to God.

From our text today, we can see that a truly repentant heart can have access to God because from such God will not turn
away. What then is repentance? It is consciously making efforts to understand why you fall into certain sins and also
actively taking steps not to repeat them. It is however important to note that repentance is not complete without using the blood of Jesus to cleanse yourself.

God promises to be available to those who are broken and contrite in heart. When you fall, do not condemn yourself rather, take out time to analyze why you keep falling, be broken about it, figure out ways you can completely overcome, and cleanse yourself with the blood. Remember, He promises not to turn His back to the broken in spirit. A repentantheart will experience the marvels of God this season. Glory to God.

PRAYER FOR THE DAY

Dear Father, I refuse any condemnation, cleanse me with your blood
in Jesus name.

PRAYER FOR MACEDONIA

Background: The Macedonian Orthodox Church claims to represent almost two-thirds of the population, but more than
1,000 churches remain largely empty, and most Macedonians are secular and unreligious in practice. The Orthodox Church
sometimes opposes new religious expressions such as evangelicalism, but dialogue is increasing.
We are praying for more teaching ministries to come into the Nation to train and raise labourers for the Lord.
Dear Lord, we pray for the government that they will walk in humility and integrity. May they put the needs of others before themselves and be true servant leaders.

PRAYER FOR ISRAEL

Father, I ask today that there will be peace in
Jerusalem and that your purposes be
established in that city. Amen (Ps 122:6)

PRAYER FOR UNITY IN THE CHURCH

Help us to be diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the
bond of peace.

PRAYER FOR SOULS / REVIVAL

Father in the name of Jesus, we pray for men and women out there in the city who do not know you; we cry
out for their souls that they will be convinced of the reality of Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection and that they will be bold to accept and declare his lordship.
