RESPONSIBLE CHRISTIANITY – Daily Devotional

SCRIPTURAL TEXT: Philippians 1:12

But I want you to know, brethren, that the things which happened to me have
actually turned out for the furtherance of the gospel.

It is highly obnoxious, to see how much the world disregards the church and the
things of God. It has become common place, for the principles and statutes of God
guiding vital areas of life such as marriage, tithing, etc., to be mocked openly even
on social media. Servants of God are not left out either, as they are ill-spoken of and
quickly ostracized when they speak the truth, or when they seem to fall short of it. Sadly,
this grave error has subtly crept into the church, as believers now seem to be on the
frontlines of such godless practices.

Believers who engage in such error of way, quickly reveal that they have no knowledge of how the kingdom of God operates, neither do they understand what it means to defend the kingdom. Thus, they practice Irresponsible Christianity.
Responsible Christianity, is understanding how our actions and decisions affect the kingdom of God.
It is thus, allowing the kingdom of God to influence your decisions, not your opinion or the feelings of people around you.
2 Samuel 1:20- 26, chronicles the reaction of David when he heard of the death of King Saul. Saul was David’s arch enemy, yet, when Saul died, David mourned for him and prevented the publishing of his manner of death, so that the heathen would not find occasion to mock God and His people.
This is responsible Christianity and the heart of a true kingdom defender. The kingdom is in need of such men today. Will you be one?

PRAYER FOR THE DAY

Dear Father, help me to be a responsible Christian that stands for the Kingdom and not against the Kingdom in Jesus name

PRAYER FOR ISRAEL

Father, I ask today that there will be peace in Jerusalem and that your purposes be established in that city. Amen (Ps 122:6)

PRAYER FOR THE UNITY OF THE CHURCH

We pray that the message of the cross, the message of redemption in Christ will be the focus of the church in Jesus name.

PRAYERS FOR NATIONS & LEADERS ( BOLIVA )

Republic of Bolivia is a Latin American country with an official language – Spanish. Its population is over 10million and
majority of its population are Christians. Bible translation in their local dialect is in great demand but they lack an effective literacy
program, making its impact blunt.

1. We are praying for the Christians in Bolivia that they will be distinguished everywhere they go.
2. We pray that you would give the President wisdom to surround himself with counselors who have the country’s best
interest at heart.

PRAYER FOR SOULS / REVIVAL

Father in the name of Jesus, we ask that your word will grow mightily and prevail, leading to a mass harvest of souls and revival in our city and environs.
