RIGHT MOTIVES FOR THE BLESSING – Daily Devotional

SCRIPTURAL TEXT: Hosea 4:7

The more they multiplied, the more they sinned against Me;
I will change their glory into shame

It is one thing to serve God and it is completely another to serve Him with the right heart. The true nature of our hearts is usually not revealed at the point of lack, but, when we receive abundant blessings from the Lord. Many have fallen prey to the enemy because, they possessed the wrong motives in seeking God. It is of great importance that we have the right motive in seeking the Lord.
It is sad to observe that some persons lose their standing with God, when they begin to experience the blessings.

They become at ease, nonchalant or high minded and in no time, they completely deviate from the ways of God they once held dear. Our scriptural text for today, typifies this condition of a people who did not have a right heart. We see that God had blessed and multiplied them, yet, this only multiplied their sins against God. In the end, we see God turning their glory into shame. This should never have been so. The blessing amplifies the true nature of your heart, whether it be right or wrong. It is crucial therefore, to
constantly check the motives behind your desires, prayers and works. Why do you seek the blessing of God?

What impact would a change of financial, marital or influential status have on your relationship with God and your commitment to His house? Will the house of God and His people experience multiplication because of your multiplication? As you set your motive right, your glory will not be turned into shame. Say amen!

PRAYERS FOR NATIONS LEADERS(COMOROS)

There are severe restrictions on Christians. Evangelism is forbidden, and those who convert to
Christianity can expect severe reprisals from the community and from their own family. Harassment and persecution have risen in frequency and intensity in recent years.

1. We are praying for wisdom for all those working out their salvation in this hostile atmosphere.
2. Father, give them leaders that will make laws to protect the freedom of the people so that they can live peaceful, quiet lives in godliness and dignity

PRAYER FOR SOULS / REVIVAL

Father in the name of Jesus, we pray for men and women out there in this city who do not know you; we cry out for their souls that they will be convinced of the reality of Christ’s death, burial and resurrection, and they will be bold to accept and declare his Lordship.
