SIN HINDERS PRAYERS  – Daily Devotional

SCRIPTURAL TEXT:  PSALM 66:17-20

“I cried out to him with my mouth; his praise was on my tongue. If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened; but God has surely listened and has heard my prayer. Praise be to God, who has not rejected my prayer or withheld his love from me!”

ISAIAH 1:19

Psalm 66:17-20 – “I cried out to him with my mouth; his praise was on my tongue. If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened; but God has surely listened and has heard my prayer. Praise be to God, who has not rejected my prayer or withheld his love from me!”

Have you ever been in a situation where your phone conversation was interrupted due to a network problem? In our secular world, this is a very common occurrence.

Prayer is a communication between you and your heavenly Father, and there is a major hindrance to prayers which is un-repented sin. It is like a spiritual network issue that causes a disconnection between you and God.

When you harbour or cover your sins in your heart and go before God in prayers, the truth is that you cannot access Him at that moment until you confess your sins, genuinely repent, and allow the blood of Jesus cleanse you from your wrong. After which we can then go to God and make our prayers unto him. Consecration is a very vital part of prayers. The blood of Jesus is the tool that consecrates us unto God and gives us access to come before God and make our petitions known to Him.

So, next time you want to go before the Lord in prayers and you remember a hurt or sin in your life or against a brother, repent of it first (Matt 5:23-24)  before you make your request to the Lord and then, He would listen and not withhold His love from you.

PRAYER FOR THE DAY

Dear Father, cleanse me, purge, and wash me of every uncleanliness in Jesus name.

PRAYER FOR KENYA

Islam is an increasing challenge. Islam is growing in size and ambition. Muslims seek to Islamize the regions where they are prevalent, to implement Shari’a law, to increase their presence in civil services and the government and to convert non-Muslims through financial inducements.

Y: We are praying for the Christians in Kenya that they will live exemplary Christian lives.

PRAYER FOR ISRAEL

Father, I ask today that there will be peace in Jerusalem and that your purposes be established in that city. Amen (Ps 122:6).

PRAYER FOR NATIONS/LEADERS

May the President find the right advisors that will give him wise counsel. Expose and remove wrong people around him that are up to no good.

PRAYER FOR UNITY IN THE CHURCH

We pray, oh Lord, give the leaders of the church a perfect heart, a heart that continually seeks you in Jesus name.

PRAYER FOR SOULS / REVIVAL

Father in the name of Jesus, we ask for the support of angelic beings, saints of old, and a manifestation of the person of Jesus for the evangelization of this city.
