SOW YOUR WAY OUT – Daily Devotional

SCRIPTURAL TEXT: 1 Kings 17:13

And Elijah said unto her, fear not; go and do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring
unto me, and after make for thee and thy son

Man is a logical being and so, he often make decisions based on reasoning. While this is good; it does not always represent the ideal way God works. As believers, we walk by faith and not by sight. The more we set our gaze on the physical, the more we lose faith in the supernatural. God told Elijah that He had commanded a widow in Zarephath to feed him.

However, we see that when Elijah arrived at the widow’s place whom God said was going to feed him, she actually had just one portion of meal left. In fact, it was the very last meal for herself and her son to eat, and then die.
What a contradiction from God! The story quickly takes a glorious turn as we see that the widow amazingly obeyed the instruction of the prophet to provide for him first. The rest they say is history, as she never lacked again. What a God we serve!

In our present day, most people, especially the social media would have strongly castigated the prophet as being self-centered and lacking empathy, not knowing that God was involved in the transaction to multiply that which was in the hands of the widow. In your life, fear should never be what determines your action neither should social and economic conditions have the upper hand in your decisions. The widow was in a worse situation that you probably might ever be! You can sow your way out of that situation and be placed in a position of advantage today. Glory to God!

PRAYER FOR THE DAY

Dear Father, help me not to walk in the flesh but by the Spirit always in Jesus name.

PRAYER FOR ISRAEL

Father, I ask today that there will be peace in Jerusalem and that your purposes be established in that city. Amen (Ps 122:6)

PRAYER FOR THE UNITY OF THE CHURCH

Help us to be diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

PRAYERS FOR NATIONS LEADERS(CHAD)

51% are unreached with the Gospel. Largest Religion is Islam. There is the need for a stable and just
government as there is a history of violence, corruption and tribalism in the leadership of the nation.

1. We are praying for finances to broadcast the Gospel on TV and radio in Chad because presently such projects run on the tiniest of budgets.
2. We pray against wrong advisors to the President, may all their demonic-inspired counsel be exposed and destroyed in Jesus name.

PRAYER FOR SOULS / REVIVAL

Father in the name of Jesus, we pray for men and women out there in the city who do not know you; we cry out for their souls that they will be convinced of the reality of Christ’s death, burial and resurrection and that they will be bold to accept and declare his Lordship.
