SCRIPTURAL TEXT: Daniel 1: 8
But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat,
nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.
Goals are powerful activators of momentum. They are resolute decisions and targets that help guide our choices and control our responses. In the absence of goals, weak and wrong choices which procure defeat, become the norm. This is because without goals, your decisions would be impulsive and
not purposeful. For example, if you have set a goal in your heart to stand strong in the midst of tough situations, your determination to achieve that goal will keep you going until you get there.
Daniel, in our scriptural text today, is a perfect example of a man that activated momentum by his goals. Daniel purposed in his heart not to deviate from that which he knew was God’s expectation of him. He was willing to die for his conviction, because he had a clear definition of his goal which was to honor and please God. By purposing in his heart, he consequently activated the momentum to follow through and reach his goal. We see God honoring Daniel for this.
Today, just as Daniel, you must purpose in your heart touching vital areas of your life and make specific goals which activate the right momentum for your achievement this year. Once you do, you would realize a surge of energy from within you that would keep you moving until the goal is realized
PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Dear Father, strengthen me on the inside to have the right resolve on my goals this year in Jesus name.
PRAYER FOR ISRAEL
Father, I ask today that there will be peace in Jerusalem and that your purposes be established in that city. Amen (Ps 122:6)

Oh Lord, teach us to grow in grace and in a godly unity.

1. We are praying, breaking the holds of the devil keeping men and women bound to immorality in Botswana.
2. Oh Lord, we bring the President and other leaders in different positions before you. May they find mercy and grace before you as they look for solutions to the different problems that are affecting the nation.
PRAYER FOR SOULS / REVIVAL
Father in the name of Jesus, we pray that the light of the glorious gospel of Christ will shine in the hearts of every unsaved person all around us today.
