SCRIPTURAL TEXT: Isaiah 40:31
But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up
with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not
faint.
Have you ever battled with the feeling of being backwards or lagging
behind; especially when some other persons around you, seem to have
made it or are achieving at a faster rate?
That feeling of you not being where you ought to be in life;- such feelings often leave you depleted, depressed and defeated. This however, is not the will of God for you.
It’s so important, to first realize that in your journey to destiny, you cannot prevail by your own strength (1Samuel 2:9). The verse preceding our scriptural text reveals to us that “even the youths (able-bodied) grow tired
and weary, and young men stumble and fall”. So, what you feel is not strange among humans. However, the scriptures reveal to us a powerful secret to by-passing this natural phenomena of weariness, stumbling and falling;-the secret of waiting on the Lord.
Waiting on the Lord, involves spending time with God, meditating on His word, committing your ways to Him completely, and doing His bidding. The time spent with God though, requires patience, yet, produces a greater navigation, increased grace and supernatural speed which causes you to catch up with your destiny! With this, you’ve got no room for worries. Begin therefore, to spend quality time with God and do His bidding, fully trusting in Him, because, God wants you to mount up and soar like the eagles! Halleluyah!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Dear Father, I receive grace to wait on you, I refuse every feeling of depression in my life in Jesus name.
PRAYER FOR ISRAEL
Father, I ask today that there will be peace in Jerusalem and that your purposes be established in that city. Amen (Ps 122:6)
PRAYER FOR THE UNITY OF THE CHURCH
We pray against every devil from hell, infesting the body of Christ with hate, pride, arrogance and factions, we come against it in jesus name.
PRAYERS FOR NATIONS & LEADERS ( BOSNIA )
After the war, out of the 1.3 million who fled to other lands only 400,000 had returned by 2000. Most of the internally displaced are still homeless. Only a very small percentage of the population has ever been clearly presented with the Gospel.
1. We are praying for Bosnian leaders, for greater wisdom and foresight in implementing a workable peace, a just settlement and a viable future.
2. Father, give them leaders who will make laws to protect the freedom of the people so that they can live peaceful, quiet lives in godliness and dignity.
PRAYER FOR SOULS / REVIVAL
Father in the name of Jesus, we ask that you will add saved souls unto us as they come to the knowledge of the truth, that they may become part and parcel of this vision.
