“ For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.”

📝 Man is a spirit material that functions principally by a soul, and housed by a body. These three are very important and none is to be looked out for above the other. And, the scriptures is replete with instructions on how to take care of these materials.
Though man is a spirit, he will however not be able to exist on the earth without a body and thus, will not be able to fulfil God’s purpose for him, because God has placed man on the earth to dominate and subdue it. Your body is designed to exist only on this earth as it was made from earth, so, when it is not properly taken care of, it will not be able to sustain the spirit and the soul, and will thus decay.
This is why exercising is very important. Our opening scripture today says that ‘bodily exercise profiteth little’; many ignorant believers have misinterpreted it and concluded that only the spirit needs exercising. This is not true. God needs you to do great exploits here on earth and you need your body on the earth to do so.
So, as we start the year, begin to create in your schedule special times for exercising. There are various forms of exercise that you can engage in to stay healthy. Remember, it is the will of God for you be in health even as your soul prospers. Glory to God!

Dear Father, I receive grace to look after my body in Jesus’ name.
PRAYER FOR MALI 🇲🇱
Background: Mali has 60% of its populace unreached with the Gospel. Islam is the largest religion. The Church is taking root, however, the number of Christians has not increased enough even to keep pace with Mali’s rapid population growth.
We are praying for boldness, passion, and a burden for the unsaved to awaken in the churches and for a new wave of evangelism such as that happened in the 1980s.
Prayer for Leaders/nation: We pray for the President of this nation that you would grant him grace to know how to unify the country.
PRAYER FOR ISRAEL
Father, I ask today that there will be peace in Jerusalem and that your purposes be established in that city. Amen (Psa. 122:6).
PRAYER FOR UNITY IN THE CHURCH
Father in the name of Jesus, we thank you for establishing the church in faith in Jesus’s name.
PRAYER FOR SOULS / REVIVAL
Father in the name of Jesus, we thank you for your will that no man should perish but that all should come to repentance.
