COMMIT TO NURTURING OTHERS – Daily Devotional

And Jesus, when he came out, saw much people, and was moved with compassion toward them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things.

Mark 6:34 (NKJV).

Nurturing others is an important aspect of human relationships and community building. Whether it is within the family, or among friends and colleagues, taking the time to care for and support others can make a significant difference in their lives.

In our opening text today, we see how Christ Jesus nurtured his disciples, teaching them out of a heart of compassion and the desire to see them transformed. He taught them through his words and actions, modeling what it meant to love and serve others.

Many times also, He also challenged his disciples, pushing them out of their comfort zones and helping them to develop new skills and abilities (Luke 9:1-2). This is the heart of a true leader.

Thus, as one who intends to perpetuate success in the home, workplace or the society at large, you must commit to nurturing others as a way of bringing out the best in them, and positioning them for success.

Therefore, rather than focusing on what is lacking in the people that God has brought your way, identify their potentials, and become intentional in helping them grow in that light. Consider how you can investing time, energy, and resources in their growth and development, with the goal of helping them become the best that they can be.
