SCRIPTURAL TEXT: JAMES 5:17-18
Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.

The word of God is our standard for life, it sets the examples that we might follow. That is why the scriptures were given for our edification and example. As we read through our text today, we notice that Elisha was a natural man just like you and anyone else but, he had supernatural abilities because he was a man of prayers.
Prayer is that which gives God permission to move on the behalf of men. Through prayer, we activate the hand of God. Have you ever imagined that a mortal man commanded the rain to cease and it obeyed him? This is truly amazing! Yet, it was written out in scriptures so we can comprehend the enormous power that we can have as we engage God in prayers.
Also, we see of Elisha how he turned the forces of nature to work in his favour when he raised the son of the Shunnamite woman from the dead through his prayers (2 Kings 4:33). Indeed there is tremendous power in the place of prayers. Even when you do not see a physical change like this; know in your heart that something great has transpired as you pray earnestly to God in faith.
Not just once but, until you see the outcome of what you desire, do not stop praying. God answers the prayers of the righteous. Halleluyah.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Dear Father, I ask for grace today to pray without ceasing in Jesus name.

Islam is an increasing challenge. Islam is growing in size and ambition. Muslims seek to Islamize the regions where they are prevalent, to implement Shari’a law, to increase their presence in civil services and the government and to convert non-Muslims through financial inducements.
Y: We are praying frustrating every plan of the devil to Islamize the nation. We cancel the plan of the devil in Jesus name.
PRAYER FOR ISRAEL
Father, I ask today that there will be peace in Jerusalem and that your purposes be established in that city. Amen (Ps 122:6).
PRAYER FOR NATIONS/LEADERS
We pray against wrong advisors to the President, may all their demonic-inspired counsel be exposed and destroyed in Jesus name.
PRAYER FOR UNITY IN THE CHURCH
We pray oh Lord; bind the church together in love in Jesus name.
PRAYER FOR SOULS / REVIVAL
Father in the name of Jesus, we ask for the outpour of your Spirit upon this city, that we may overcome the barriers and the resistance against the Gospel, that many may come to the true light of the Lord Jesus Christ .
