EXERCISE YOUR AUTHORITY – Daily Devotional

And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

Mark 4:39 (NKJV)

In our opening text today, we see the Lord Jesus speaking against the raging storm encountered by His disciples as they sailed, and we do have great lessons to learn from this.

Storms are an inevitable part of life. They may come in the form of health challenges, financial struggles, or other issues that often leave us overwhelmed. While Jesus never promised a storm-free life, He assured us of His presence and power amid the storms of life (John 16:33).

Just as the disciples faced a literal tempest on the sea, you may encounter storms that shake you to your core sometimes. In such moments, remember that you are not alone, and you have in you and with you the one who has all power in heaven and on earth (Matt. 28:18). With this confidence, and the revelation of your authority in Christ, you can rebuke the devil in your situation and restore peace and order in your life (Phil 2:9-11).

Therefore, if you find yourself in the midst of a storm today, remember that you are not helpless. Do not panic or allow the devil to run rampage in your health, home, or business. Rather, nip his activities in the bud by exercising your authority in Christ. Be courageous, knowing that nothing can stand against the power in the name of our Saviour – Jesus Christ.

Father in the name of Jesus, give me a greater confidence to express my faith in you in the midst of every storm, in Jesus Name.

Like most indigenous peoples, the cultural traditions of the Kanak people were inspired by animistic beliefs, but Christianity is now their predominant faith. The majority of New Caledonians are Catholics but both the Protestant and Pentecostal churches are well established locally.

1. Prayer for the nation: Father in the name of Jesus, we ask that you will will give unto the church the wisdom and perfect strategy to reach the unsaved in that nation, in Jesus Name.
2. Prayer for the leaders: Father, we pray for wisdom upon the government of this nation to handle the challenge of inaccessibility affecting the spread of the Gospel in that nation.

🕍PRAYER FOR ISRAEL – (Ps 122:6)
Father in the name of Jesus, show your mercy and favour in this set time to Israel. Let your mercy not depart from Israel, in Jesus name.

💒 PRAYER FOR UNITY IN THE CHURCH
Father in the name of Jesus, we pray that believers in body of Christ will have fervent love for one another, just as Christ had loved the church, in Jesus Name.
☄️ PRAYER FOR SOULS / REVIVAL
Father in the name of Jesus, we ask that you will give us a harvest of souls in our cities. Let the unsaved realize the futility of a life without Christ, and return to you, in Jesus name.
