A wise, shrewd person discerns the danger ahead and prepares himself, but the naïve simpleton never looks ahead and suffers the consequences.
Proverbs 27:12 (TPT)
Life can be unpredictable sometimes, and things may not always go as planned. Even the best plans can be hit by unexpected setbacks, which may delay or derail a project execution. This is why a good manager learns to make contingency plans to mitigate failure.
Planning for setbacks, is a crucial aspect of risk management that everyone ought to learn. It involves anticipating potential challenges or setbacks for your goals and developing strategies to minimize their impact ahead of time.
Just like a wise and discreet person that our opening text describes, each time you set out your goals, also try to identify the risk factors that could derail your plans. These may be factors within or beyond your control.
For instance, what happens if a principal team member suddenly calls in sick? How will you proceed with your project, if suddenly, expected funds delays? Scenarios like this should be considered when double checking your plan for a project, so that you may make adequate back up plans.
Your back up plan should include alternative approaches that you may adopt if things do not go according to plan. By doing this, you can increase your chances of success, and give yourself a competitive edge among your peers.
Remember, planning for setbacks is not about being pessimistic, it is about being prepared. By anticipating potential risks and developing contingency plans, you can minimize the impact of any setback and keep your project or business on track.
🙏 DAILY PRAYER GUIDE
Father in the name of Jesus, give me the wisdom and foresight to pre-empt and adequately prepare for the unexpected, in the name of Jesus.
🏞️ PRAYER FOR A NATION – NAURU
Having received the Gospel in the early 1900s, Nauruans are still quite religious (91.5% Christian). But, for many, their faith is works-based, with little understanding of the Gospel.
- Prayer for the nation: Father in the name of Jesus, send forth labourers into the churches in Nauru; men of understanding who will teach the believers sound knowledge, in Jesus Name.
- Prayer for the leaders: Oh Lord, cause the government and leaders of Nauru to formulate policies that will favour the course of the Gospel in the nation, in Jesus Name.
🕍 PRAYER FOR ISRAEL – (Ps 122:6)
Father, I ask today that there will be peace in Jerusalem and that your purposes be established in that city. Amen
💒 PRAYER FOR UNITY IN THE CHURCH
Father in the name of Jesus, cause the spirit of love and oneness to rest upon the Body of Christ in our nation today, in Jesus name.
☄️ PRAYER FOR SOULS / REVIVAL
Father in the Name of Jesus, we pray for deeper access into the supernatural, that as we go into the fields, terrible signs and wonders may be wrought by our hands, thus leading to a massive harvest of souls.
