SCRIPTURAL TEXT: MATTHEW 9:37 KJV
Then saith he unto his disciples,
The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;
October 18th
The task of reaching the nations with the gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus
Christ is no easy assignment; it requires the commitment of every single
believer on the earth. Yet, it is disheartening to see that so many souls are
still lost and many believers have not shown sufficient passion and commitment to
soul-winning in recent times. This ought not to be so! We have been saved to save
others.
In our scriptural text, we see that this was a cry from the master, Jesus speaking to his disciples was lamenting
about this. Many souls are ripe to be harvested but, the number of trained laborers to harvest them is few. Yet,
our Lord gave us an instruction to pray. Matthew 9 verse 38 says “Ask the lord of the harvest to send forth
labourers”, this should be the prayer of every believer.
Take out time deliberately to pray for all those around you that are yet to be saved that they would encounter the
saving power of our Lord and, submit themselves to his lordship. This is a prayer that can cause men to encounter
salvation.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Dear Father, give me a passion for the lost in Jesus name.
PRAYER FOR LIBERIA
Background: The physical needs in Liberia are many – poverty, illiteracy and under-education, HIV/AIDS,
etc,. Islam’s expansion is also alarming as Liberia remains a major target for African Islam.
We are praying for wisdom upon their government to rebuild their society.
Dear Father, we pray against division in the leadership but that they will commit to working
cooperatively for the common good of the nation.
PRAYER FOR ISRAEL
Father, I ask today that there will be peace in
Jerusalem and that your purposes be
established in that city. Amen (Ps 122:6)
PRAYER FOR UNITY IN THE CHURCH
We pray, help us to love one another as you have loved us in Jesus
name.
PRAYER FOR SOULS / REVIVAL
Father in the name of Jesus, we pray for men and women out there in this city who do not know you; we cry
out for their souls that they will be convinced of the reality of Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection, and
they will be bold to accept and declare his lordship.
