REDIRECT YOUR THOUGHTS – Daily Devotional

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just,

Philippians 4:8 (NKJV)

Whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Controlling your thoughts can be a daunting task, especially in a world filled with distractions and negativity. However, as believers, we are called to take captive every thought and make it obedient to Christ (2Cor. 10:5). This is our duty.

One important key to achieving this is seen in our opening text today, where we are told to consciously direct our thoughts towards the things that are just, pure, lovely, of good report, and worthy of praise and virtue. This implies that we must be intentional about what we apply our minds to, and be deliberate about what we focus your thoughts on.

Every man is a product of his thoughts (Prov. 23:7). Thus, your ability to concentrate your mind on the right thoughts can determine how productive you will be on your job, in your home or business. If you continually entertain stray and unhealthy thoughts which add no value, then you end up unproductive with your mind.

This is why you must practice redirecting your mind from dwelling on thoughts of unforgiveness, inferiority, hatred or jealousy, by meditating on the truth of God’s Word, which is the source of everything pure, wholesome and edifying (Psa. 19:7-9).

The good news is that with constant practice, and by the help of the Holy Ghost, you can learn to take control of your mind and propel your thoughts in a positive direction each and every day for enhanced productivity.

Father in the name of Jesus, we ask that you will add saved souls unto us as they come to the knowledge of the truth, that they may become part and partakers of the inheritance in Christ, in Jesus name.
