SCRIPTURAL TEXT: 1 Samuel 17:25
And the men of Israel said, Have ye seen this man that is come up? surely to defy Israel is he
come up: and it shall be, that the man who killeth him, the king will enrich him with
great riches, and will give him his daughter, and make his father’s house free in Israel
When Goliath, the champion of the Philistines came up against
Israel, the Scripture records that “all” the men of Israel fled,
because, they were sore afraid (1 Samuel 17:24). However, when
David inquired and was told the reward that anyone who killed Goliath would
get, he redefined his perspective based on the new motivation; he girded up his
loins and went against Goliath.
Indeed, there is great power in reward. Rewards have the power to activate momentum for breakthrough.
Another example of this can be seen in the life of Jesus, Who for the joy (reward) that was set before Him,
endured the cross, despised the shame, and is right now set down at the right hand of the throne of God
(Hebrews 12:2). So, we see that rewards also generate the momentum to withstand or go through pain,
and to receive the prize that is set ahead. How profound!
So, anytime that feeling of inadequacy to go through some situations arises again, quickly take a clue from the life of David and the Lord Jesus, and set your eyes on the target, rather than on the process. By focusing on the prize (reward), you will be generating momentum for the price (process). Glory to God!
PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Dear Father, help me to set my eyes on the end of my goal this year and not on the process in Jesus name.
PRAYER FOR ISRAEL
Father, I ask today that there will be peace in Jerusalem and that your purposes be established in that city. Amen (Ps 122:6)

Dear father, help the church to dwell together in unity.

Bougainville is an Island. There exists decades of bitterness and hatred between the Papua New Guinea government and the Bougainville Islanders. There is still a need for forgiveness and reconciliation in that nation.
1. We are praying for wisdom upon the leaders in Bougainville that they may know how to walk in peace and maintain peace in the nation.
2. Dear Lord, we pray that the leaders will be emotionally and psychologically whole in Jesus name.
PRAYER FOR SOULS / REVIVAL
Father in the name of Jesus, we pray for the church, that the light from our church will so shine that our cities will gather and come unto us to know our God in Jesus name.
