TAKE IT BY FORCE – Daily Devotional

SCRIPTURAL TEXT: Matthew 11:12

And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.

You would agree that it is a fatal adventure to try dispossessing a lioness of just one of her young cubs. One can immediately predict the reaction of the lioness and the events that would follow. This is very instructive for us believers. Many believers often suffer losses and setbacks in silence. This ought not to our disposition, seeing that we are offsprings of the Lion of the tribe of Judah. As such, we need to break out of silent mode and get bold

and violent about reclaiming our lost possessions. This kind of violence is what our opening Scripture speaks about.

TOPIC

We cannot continue to cower and be quiet about the oppression of the enemy. In 1 Samuel 30:1-18, with all that David went through, he was greatly distressed yet he refused to give up and lose all that had been taken from him and his men. And so at the Word of the Lord, he pursued with all determination until he overtook his adversaries and recovered all that they had lost. Likewise, it takes a level of aggressiveness and determination to recover all that has stolen from us.

God has made several promises to us about having our losses restored. However, the ball remains in our court to decide to pursue and recover or not. Let us, therefore, brace up today and put out our faith, with a strong determination to reclaim all that we have lost at various points in our lives. It is time to take the adversary to court and insist on all the promises of God in this light. Hallelujah!
