LEAD BY EXAMPLE – Daily Devotional

For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.

Genesis 18:19 (NKJV).

Leadership is an important bedrock of any institution. Whether it be a family, business organization or nation, the prosperity of an institution is tied to the quality of leadership it possesses. Thus, having the right kind of leadership in an institution is top priority for success.

In our opening text, we see a testimonial given by God about Abraham, which alludes to his style of leadership. He was praised for his ability to command his household after himself in doing the will of God. This is leadership at its best; the ability to inspire and lead others to act in a way that one has fully exemplified.

Leading by example involves setting a positive example for others to follow. It is modeling the behavior that you intend to see in others, and thus creating a culture of excellence that inspires people to be what you want them to be.

When you lead by example, you set the tone for the people you lead, making them see that it is possible to become or do what is required of them. In return, leading by example earns you the trust and respect of those you lead, making it easier to command their compliance.

Thus, in your quest to lead your team, family, or organization to success, prioritize being an exemplary leader, as this is one of the fastest ways to create a sense of shared purpose and motivate your team for success.

Having received the Gospel in the early 1900s, Nauruans are still quite religious (91.5% Christian). But, for many, their faith is works-based, with little understanding of the Gospel.

1. Prayer for the nation: Father in the name of Jesus, cause the eyes of the understanding of believers in Nauru to be enlightened, so that they may know you more, in the name of Jesus.
2. Prayer for the leaders: Father in the name of Jesus, we pray for the salvation of the leaders of Nauru, that they may know you and submit to your leadership in Jesus name.

🕍PRAYER FOR ISRAEL – (Ps 122:6)
Father, I ask today that there will be peace in Jerusalem and that your purposes be established in that city. Amen
